Mint Cilantro Chutney

This is a staple condiment is peerfect for every Indian snack or meal. Packed with fresh flavors of mint, cilantro, lime juice, chillies it enhances the flavors of Indian snacks like samosa, fried foods, chaats, kebabs, sandwiches and everywhere you need to perk up a meal.

This recipe is bit freestyle, so add or reduce the quantity chillies to your taste preferences.

Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bunch cilantro, about 2 cups bottom trimmed and chopped
  • 10-12 mint leaves
  • 1-3 hot green chilies, use as many or as little to suit your heat preference
  • 1½ inch ginger knob
  • 1 leveled tsp ground cumin
  • 1 plump date or one tablespoon raisin or ½ tsp sugar
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon or lime juice
  • ¼ cup plain yogurt or raw cashews if using cashews soak for 30 minutes in water
  • water as needed to blend

Instructions
 

  • Place all the ingredient in a high-speed food processor. Blend all ingredients until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning and lemon juice as needed.
