Radish Walnut Raita

November 18, 2022 by Meera 1 Comment

A delicious and healthy dip or side to accompany any Indian recipe. A little different from the usual cucumber raita this raita is made with whisked Greek yogurt along with grated radish, walnut, pomegranate and mint to make a delicious dip, scooped with naan or chips or make it part of a mezze.

The sharpness of radishes is tamed by the creamy yogurt and the toasted walnuts add a crunchy element, along with mint for freshness and pomegranate for that sweet tart flavor, this recipe is a keeper. Try it as a side dish to accompany curries and rice dishes to cool things off.

Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Cup Greek yogurt, any fat % you like
  • 8-10 regular radishes grated or finely chopped
  • ¼-1/2  cup walnuts chopped, toasted preferably
  • 1 Green chilli chopped, optional
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 8-10 fresh mint leaves
  • 3 tbsps pomegranate arils

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Whisk the yogurt with salt.
  • Add grated Radish, sea salt, 1/2 the black pepper and half of the chopped Walnuts. Mix well.
  • Tear or chop the mint leaves roughly with your fingers and add to the raita. Mix well and transfer to a serving dish.
  • Garnish with the remaining mint, walnuts, chopped green chillies.
  • Chill and serve as a dip or side to accompany any Indian recipe.
