We try to go down every few years for a quick weekend break, its always exciting to discover new places and revisit our favorite places to eat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course L.A has the best food in the U.S in my opinion, I rarely have a bad experience, well I do my research and also go by recommendations from friends, family and on people on Instagram. Most live up to all the hype some ah! not so much. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So this time we were looking for a pizza place around Beverly Hills and we stumbled upon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mainlandpoke.com\">Mainland Poke Shop<\/a>, to my surprise the poke was really good, the ingredients were fresh and tasty, the sauces were flavorful and not overly salty. They are priced by the number of scoops of fish. I got 3 scoops, ditched the rice and got salad greens with veggies. I give <strong><em>4.5 stars<\/em><\/strong> for sure. Needless to say I had to remake what I ate so here&#8217;s my vegan version since there is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nourishdeliciously.com\/?p=7654\">Salmon<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nourishdeliciously.com\/?p=8067\">Ahi <\/a>already on the blog. Hope you like it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery aligncenter columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.nourishdeliciously.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/DSC_1263-3.jpg?fit=906%2C1024\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"9755\" data-link=\"http:\/\/www.nourishdeliciously.com\/?attachment_id=9755\" class=\"wp-image-9755\"\/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nourishdeliciously.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/DSC_1261-2.jpg?fit=682%2C1024\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"9756\" data-link=\"http:\/\/www.nourishdeliciously.com\/?attachment_id=9756\" class=\"wp-image-9756\"\/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Makes 2-3 bowls <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>VEGGIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 cup organic shelled edamame, steamed<\/li><li>1 Persian cucumber, thinly sliced<\/li><li>1-2 cups purple cabbage, shredded<\/li><li>1 cup diced jicama or Mango<\/li><li>1 small avocado, sliced<\/li><li>2-3 breakfast radishes, thinly sliced<\/li><li>Few handful sliced nori seaweed or 1\/2 cup of seaweed salad<\/li><li>1 medium blood orange or ruby red grapefruit, diced, ( <em>for a little sweetness and it looks like ahi tuna)<\/em><\/li><li>1-1\u00bd cup cooked brown rice<\/li><li>4 spring onions, sliced<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Miso Ginger Sauce<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1\u00bd tablespoons toasted sesame oil<\/li><li>2 tablespoons lemon juice or vinegar<\/li><li>2 tablespoons tamari<\/li><li>1\/4 cup light white miso paste<\/li><li>1 teaspoon maple syrup<\/li><li>\u00bd- 3\/4 inch piece ginger, peeled<\/li><li>1 fat garlic clove, peeled<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Add ons<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 jalape\u00f1o or red chilli, sliced<\/li><li>1 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds<\/li><li>1 handful sprouts, I like arugula sprouts<\/li><li>a few garlic or onion chips (optional)<\/li><li>1 lime, sliced<\/li><li>pickled ginger<\/li><li>wasabi mayo<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In a small food processor add garlic, ginger, sesame oil, tamari, miso, maple and lemon juice\/vinegar, blend till everything is minced and smooth as a sauce. set aside to develop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour half the sauce over the rice and let it soak for 10 minutes.
