This is not an authentic Feijoada or feijoada salad. Feijoada is a bean and meat stew eaten in some form all over the Portuguese diaspora. In Brazil it&#8217;s black beans and different cuts of porks and other meats.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Brazilian inspired Feijoada Salad\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/169306894?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>However this is a vegetarian\/vegan salad. It has elements of Brazilian\/ Portuguese cuisine, like black beams, black eyed peas, hearts of palm, importantly it&#8217;s delicious!! It can easily be made into a full on meal by adding grilled meats if you have to. I loved it as is!<\/p>\n<p>Brazilian Feijoada Salad<\/p>\n<p><b> INGREDIENTS<\/b><br \/>\n1-1\/2 cups freshly cooked or frozen black eyed peas (about 16 ounces)<br \/>\n1-1\/2 cups freshly cooked or canned black beans<br \/>\n1\/2 cup sliced green olives<br \/>\n1 medium red onion diced<br \/>\n1 red pepper, diced<br \/>\n1 avocado cut into small cubes<br \/>\n1 cup diced hearts of palm<br \/>\n2 medium sized tomatoes or a handful of cherry tomatoes, cubed<br \/>\n2-3 green onions grilled (optional)<br \/>\n1\/4 cup chopped cilantro<br \/>\n1\/4 cup chopped parsley<\/p>\n<p><b>Salad Dressing<\/b><br \/>\nJuice of 1 lime<br \/>\n2 tablespoons olive oil<br \/>\n2 tablespoons white wine vinegar<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon cumin<br \/>\nSalt and pepper to taste<br \/>\nFor added protein and to make it a full meal you could add grilled chicken\/ grilled steak\/ shrimps\/ 2 hard boiled eggs halved \/ or a small can of sustainable low salt albacore tuna in water<\/p>\n<p><b>Instructions<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If you are using dried beans, soak over night. Then cook till tender but not mushy or use canned beans, drained and well rinsed.<\/li>\n<li>Add all the ingredients in a large bowl.
