I recently discover Bostock and completely fell in love with it. Bostock is a French style French toast that is made with brioche slices that is brushed with syrup or jam, then covered in a delicious almond frangipane that is then gently baked to a beautiful golden crust and finally dusted with powdered sugar. It&#8217;s a fabulous breakfast treat specially for a celebratory brunch. loaf brioche\u00a0<\/li><li>1\/4 teaspoon vanilla extract<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>For the almond frangipane<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u00bd cup blanched whole almonds, toasted and ground\u00a0<\/li><li>3 tablespoons powdered sugar, you can add more for sweeter Bostock<\/li><li>3-4 oz about \u00bc cup unsalted butter, softened\u00a0<\/li><li>2 tablespoons regular, almond or any plant milk or one egg\u00a0<\/li><li>1 tablespoon dark rum\u00a0<\/li><li>\u00bc teaspoon sea salt<\/li><li>\u00bd teaspoon almond extract<\/li><li>1\/2 cup lightly toasted sliced almonds, for serving\u00a0<\/li><li>zest of one small orange, optional<\/li><li>Berries to serve<\/li><li>Confectioners or powdered sugar, for dusting<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Set the oven to 325 \u00b0F<\/li><li><strong>To make the frangipane<\/strong>: In bowl of a food processor, combine the ground almonds, sugar and process until finely ground. Add the softened butter, milk, rum, salt, and almond extract, and process until frangipane is smooth.<\/li><li>\u00a0Slice the brioche into eight 1-inch-thick slices.\u00a0Brush both sides of each slice with the vanilla maple syrup; place it on the prepared baking sheet. Spread each top evenly with 1-2 tablespoons of the almond frangipane.<\/li><li>Bake until golden brown, 10-12 to minutes. Sprinkle with sliced almonds and dust with confectioners&#8217; sugar.
