Adaptogens like Ashwagandha, Alma are always featured in its recipe and include many other lesser known herbs and spices. It&#8217;s a very thick jammy concoction that looks bit like the British Marmite, but is sweet, spicy, fruity and a little herbaceous. It is normally spooned directly from the jar or mixed with milk as a pick-me-up health elixir. Known to provide energy(from. the sugars), adaptogens to strengthen, build maintain immunity and resistance. This tea based latte includes chayawanprash that is a little different to your usual latte&#8217;s but a delicious recipe to enjoy Chayawanprash. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chayawanprash does have powerful herbs and spices that may not agree or too strong for people with conditions. For homemade nut milk, soak 1 cup raw plain nuts( macadamia, almond, cashew are best) in water overnight, drain, rinse, and blend with 3 cups filtered water. Strain through cheesecloth, reserving the pulp for another recipe like pancake, curries or oatmeal. Store the milk in a bottle or jar with a tight fitted lid. I used macadamia, but almonds cashews also work well<\/li><li>1-2 heaped teaspoons\u00a0Chayawanprash\u00a0<\/li><li>\u00bc teaspoon vanilla extract<\/li><li>1 date, pitted, (<em>maple or honey can be used in hot optional, date is better for chilled option<\/em>) skip if less sweet is preferred<\/li><li>pinch of sea salt<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bring one cup water up to a boil and steep the Earl Grey or Rooibos tea in the boiling water for 5 minutes.<\/li><li><strong>To Serve Chilled<\/strong>:  Remove the teabag and allow it to cool completly  for a few minutes. In a high speed blender add the nuts, steeped tea, vanilla, remaining water, Chawanprash and pinch of salt, add the date if you like it sweet. Blend on high for 30-60 seconds. Serve chilled<\/li><li><strong>To Serve Hot<\/strong>:\u00a0Do not cool the tea. Use milk instead of water+nuts. I like to make homemade nut milk. Steam the milk to bring it up to a boil, take it off the heat.<strong> Use Precaution: <\/strong>Carefully add hot tea, vanilla, date, salt, Chayawanprash, hot milk in an upright blender.<strong> Blend starting with the lowest speed on your blender and increase the speed slowly until everything  is well blended.<\/strong> I also reheat as I like the latte super hot.
